NorthCrest Foundation: 2019 Year in Review

NorthCrest Foundation

Each year, the NorthCrest Foundation supports the community through Concussion Identification Impact Software to all local high school athletic programs, through the support and management of the Martha’s Song program, which gives small monetary grants for local cancer patients with needs, and chipping away at the $10 million+ in charity care given by NorthCrest Medical Center to those in need from our community annually. This year, the Foundation has celebrated a few additional exciting projects!

The NorthCrest Foundation would like to thank our numerous corporate, individual and employee donors that help make our medical center a better place to visit, and to provide those in need in our community with quality healthcare. To become a part of our legacy, please contact the Director, Adele Watts by calling 615-382-6048, via e-mail at adele_watts@northcrest.com or connect with our NorthCrest Foundation Facebook page to donate.

Campus Signage Updates

The Foundation purchased the renovation of all existing campus wayfinding signs, along with a new Emergency Entrance sign, updating the colors and the new logo branding.

Bringing Color to NorthCrest

The Foundation launched a mission to bring color and liveliness to the walls of NorthCrest, and completed Phase 1 with a renovation of the Physician Acknowledgement Wall, a partnership artwork project with our local schools, along with a commissioned lobby art installment and donations acquired from many local talented artisans.

Community Event Support

Camp TAG 2019
Many were concerned about the fate of the long-time running Camp T.A.G., which has hosted hundreds of kids to help them through the loss of a loved one organized by NorthCrest Hospice. With the blessing of Comfort Care Hospice, it was decided that the NorthCrest Foundation would continue to underwrite the camp, and it would go on, uninterrupted.
NorthCrest Relay for Life 2019
It may have been both the hottest and then stormiest day on record for Relay for Life, but NorthCrest prevailed in a big way with its support for the event benefiting the American Cancer Society.

Fundraising Events

The 13th Annual NorthCrest Gala was again a success with 420 attendees and $146,000 raised through sponsorships, table sales, and the live & silent auctions.

The 22nd Annual NorthCrest Golf Classic may have set a record for being a sell-out tournament that played through the rainiest conditions ever. Despite the weather, this event still raised $37,000 for the NorthCrest Foundation.

NorthCrest HERO campaign
The HERO Campaign raised an unprecedented $30,000 for NorthCrest – which allowed the many improvements to be made to our facility. There are many more plans for 2020!
NorthCrest No-Show Soiree
The 2nd Annual No-Show Soiree took place, raising money for an event that well, doesn’t happen! This “fun” event always creates fun social media videos and thus a lot of buzz for the Foundation.

Volunteers Make a Difference

The NorthCrest Volunteers finished out the year with 60 volunteers (including chaplains), and a myriad of project for NorthCrest and our community. Along with two scholarships awarded to local students going into the healthcare field, they presented school supplies to Crestview Elementary and the Robertson County School Resource Center. In addition, the volunteers donated baby dolls (and hand-knitted blankets) to dementia patients at NorthCrest, Fix-o-Dent to patients in need and stocked walker bags with playing cards, tissues, chapstick, and other useful items. The Volunteers knit blankets for babies born in our labor-and-delivery unit, along with hats to for newborns to wear home during the cold days.  They underwrite and distribute colorless coloring books to young patients and visitors, and purchased a bariatric wheelchair for the medical-surgical unit on the second floor.

A Bonus: Donation Check Won with Lip Sync Fun

NorthCrest Lip Sync 2019

As if all of this was not enough, NorthCrest took home the 1st Place Trophy and grand prize from the first Robertson County Fair Lip Sync Competition hosted by the Credit Union for Robertson County. This prize went straight to the NorthCrest Foundation to add to our total fundraising for 2019.
