At NorthCrest, we have unique programs that allow individuals to serve in applicable learning environments related to a variety of healthcare positions. These roles are meant to provide hands-on experience to participants for either applying theory from coursework or introduce students to potential healthcare careers.
For New Nurses and Nursing Students
RN New Graduate Residency Program
For new nurse graduates: a program that bridges gaps between theory and application in the transition to experiencing the full work responsibility of a professional nurse.
Nurse Extern Program
For nursing students: an opportunity to apply academic theory to an actual hospital setting. As an extern, the student will expand their clinical experience by assisting in patient care activities under direct supervision of a licensed RN.
For High School Students
Student Healthcare Internship Program
For high school students (age 14-17): an opportunity to gain exposure and marketable job skills in either clinical or non-clinical areas at NorthCrest Medical Center. This is a two-week program including rotations through various departments within the hospital.
For rising high school seniors: students who have decided to pursue a career in the healthcare field can participate in this two-week program while gaining relevant healthcare exposure and marketable job skills. Career paths included in the program are: RN, Rad Tech, MT/MLT (laboratory), Ultrasound Tech, Respiratory Therapist, Pharmacy Tech, and Physical Therapist.
