About Camp T.A.G. (Teaching About Grief)
Children, just like adults, experience grief and need support. Camp TAG is a 4-day, 3-night grief camp for children 6-15 who have lost a loved one. During their time at camp, grief counselors teach campers how to deal with their feelings during the grieving process.
Camp TAG provides a unique experience by allowing children to learn and engage in age-appropriate classes with children who have experienced loss. Throughout the week, children participate in other fun-filled activities including swimming, hikes, crafts, scavenger hunts, relay races, obstacle course, and team sports.
Children who attend Camp TAG have experienced a variety of loss in their lives, including, but not limited to:
- death of a loved one
- military deployment
Camp TAG is staffed by Comfort Care Hospice employees and community volunteers. Camp TAG is sponsored by the NorthCrest Foundation. For more information, contact Comfort Care Hospice of Springfield at 615-384-9425.
Dates for 2020 Camp TAG are July 16-July 19. You may request a camp application by contacting 615-384-9425 beginning in April 2020.
