Food and Nutrition Services

NorthCrest Medical Center offers a wide variety of services related to food and nutrition. In-patient services offer planned and balanced meals, calorie counts, food and drug interaction education, nutrition assessments, dietetic counseling, and education resources for specialized diets as ordered by the physician. Out-patient services also offer counseling and education regarding specialized diets related to diseases and nutritional well-being. These services are fee based and may be covered by some insurance providers. Certain disease states can be significantly improved through diet control and lifestyle changes. For this reason, your primary care physician may make a referral to a dietitian for counseling regarding weight loss, lowering fat and cholesterol, diabetes meal planning, or any number of diet educational needs.
