NorthCrest Medical Center Achieves Tenth Straight “A” for Patient Safety in Fall 2017 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

leapfrog A safety gradeSPRINGFIELD, TN (November 1, 2017) – NorthCrest Medical Center is proud to be recognized for the 10th consecutive time with an “A” grade in patient safety by The Leapfrog Group. Since 2012, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades have been released twice annually, in the Spring and Fall, to provide a rating on how well hospitals protect patients from preventable medical errors, injuries, infections and accidents within the hospital. NorthCrest is one of 832 hospitals in the United States to earn an ‘A’ rating for Fall 2017 for its commitment to keeping patients safe and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S.

Developed under the guidance of a Blue Ribbon National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Consumers can utilize Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades in assessing the safety of their local hospital and aid them in choosing the safest hospital to seek care.
