Springfield, Tenn. (March 23, 2018) – NorthCrest Medical Center hosted its first Healthcare Symposium on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 for Robertson County HOSA students (HOSA-Future Health Professionals). Approximately 40 students from White House Heritage and Jo Byrns High School attended the event. Students visited different booths featuring information about different healthcare careers including surgery, pharmacy, medical imaging, respiratory, nursing, lab, healthcare administration, and NorthCrest’s SHIP/Camper program. Western Kentucky University also had a booth.
The purpose of this event is to introduce Robertson County students to healthcare careers. It is part of NorthCrest’s first line of recruitment in a long-range plan to ease the critical shortage of healthcare workers. NorthCrest plans to host more Healthcare Symposiums in the future, offering an opportunity for Robertson County students from other schools to learn about healthcare careers and related area college programs.
