Smoking Cessation Class
The American Lung Association’s “Freedom from Smoking” Class is an eight-session stop-smoking clinic with a supportive environment to break the smoking addiction. Each smoker will develop an individual plan for quitting. In the clinic, emphasis is on long-term freedom from smoking by identifying the pitfalls of relapse and by planning to prevent it. The clinic includes the latest improved skills for good stress management, weight control, assertive communication, and exercise - skills to help ex-smokers succeed. A step-by-step method for changing behavior and quitting smoking uses positive thinking, alternative behaviors, one-on-one help, rewards, and group support to help participants stop smoking. The registration fee of $50 is refundable if all sessions are attended.
