Camp T.A.G. (Teaching About Grief)
Children, just like adults, experience grief and need support. Camp TAG is a specifically-designed 4-day, 3-night grief camp that gives children ages 7-16 a chance to meet other young people who, like themselves, have lost a loved one. During their time at camp, professionally-trained grief counselors teach campers, in age-appropriate classes, how to deal with their feelings during the grieving process. Throughout the week, children participate in other fun-filled activities including swimming, hikes, crafts, scavenger hunts, relay races, obstacle course, and team sports. Camp TAG is staffed by NorthCrest Medical Center employees and community volunteers. Camp TAG is sponsored in part by the United Way of Robertson County.
Grief Support Groups
Sharing with others marks the first step toward reinvesting in life. The friends you’ll find in NorthCrest Hospice’s support group help you take that first step. A new grief recovery group for adults begins at regular intervals, and usually about 10 people join each group. A facilitator leads you through specific stages of grief to help you accept and cope with your loss.
