Taught by American Heart Association Instructors, these classes are offered throughout the year.

While emergencies come in all shapes, sizes and forms, the basic response to each emergency could make the difference between life and death. The American Heart Association presents the most up to date response techniques to the most common emergencies.

The course outline includes:
How to recognize and what to do in these major emergencies:

  • Heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, airway obstruction , respiratory arrest ,fainting,allergic reaction, seizure, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia
  • Use of an automated external defibrillator in cardiac arrest
  • Head and spinal injuries
  • Bleeding and shock
  • Cold and heat emergencies
  • Wounds and bites or stings
  • Burns and poisoning
  • Hands on practice in CPR
  • Bone, joint and muscle injury
